11,800 ceramic fragments rewrite Silk Road history
Archaeologists have discovered a large collection of ceramics at a medieval site in Uzbekistan that reveal a previously unknown era in regional history. The discovery extends the known chronology of Kafir Kala, a fortified settlement in the Samarkand oasis, by almost three centuries.
