1974 war prisoners break silence on abuse in Turkish prisons
More than one prisoner of war from 1974 has disclosed in strict confidence that he was raped in Turkish prisons in Adana, according to the president of the 1974 War Prisoners Association, Vasos Christou. The victims have kept the trauma they suffered as a closely guarded secret for over 50 years and are now struggling with the psychological and physical consequences of these crimes.
