2,000-Year-Old Roman Bread Discovered in Switzerland
Excavations at the ancient Roman camp Vindonissa in Switzerland uncovered a rare archaeological artifact: the first known 2,000-year-old Roman bread found on Swiss soil. The cantonal archaeology authority of Aargau announced the discovery, which was made during a rescue excavation ahead of planned residential developments and ran from August 2025.
