52 years of Turkish invasion: Erdogan reaffirms support for Northern Cyprus
On July 20, 1974, the Turkish military invaded Cyprus and occupied the northern part of the island. On the anniversary of this event, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan published a message on social media reaffirming Turkish support for Turkish Cypriots. Erdogan honored the 'heroic martyrs' and promised not to abandon Turkish Cypriots.
