52 Years Since Turkish Invasion - Commemoration Day in Cyprus
On July 20, Cyprus commemorates for the 52nd time the Turkish military invasion of 1974. Nationwide, sirens sounded at 5:30 a.m. in remembrance of the tragedy and ongoing occupation. Numerous memorial events and commemorative ceremonies honored the fallen and missing from the invasion.
