86-Year-Old Woman Defrauded of 180,000 Euros
An elderly woman in Greece fell victim to a telephone scam in which a fraudster posed as an accountant and persuaded her to exchange her banknotes, claiming that an immediate currency conversion similar to the former drachma-to-euro conversion was imminent. The damage amounts to over 180,000 euros.
