AI Against AI: EU Project Against Disinformation and Deepfakes
EU-funded researchers are developing new tools to detect disinformation and deepfakes to help journalists distinguish facts from misinformation. The article describes how manipulated videos were spread on social media during the winter season, making false claims about Islamists at Christmas markets in Europe. The newly developed AI systems are intended to counter this phenomenon.
