AI fraud in Italy: 95 million euros stolen from Intesa Sanpaolo
Using Artificial Intelligence to mimic executives, fraudsters managed to steal 95 million euros from Fideuram, the private banking arm of Italy's largest bank Intesa Sanpaolo. About half of the money was later recovered, but approximately 36 million euros remain missing. The fraudsters reportedly used voice imitations via WhatsApp.
