AI instruction starts in autumn – EU legislation delayed until 2028
The implementation of the EU AI Act, originally scheduled to take effect on August 2, 2026, is being postponed to August 2, 2028. Despite this delay, the Education Ministry announced plans to introduce Artificial Intelligence instruction in Cypriot schools starting in September 2026. This was confirmed by the chairperson of the Human Rights Committee of the House of Representatives.
