Air traffic control critically understaffed
Nicosia Air Traffic Control Center is staffed with only 90 of the required 140 air traffic controllers, putting flight safety in the region under strain. A joint meeting of parliament's defense and transportation committees addressed risks posed by Turkish violations and actions by the "pseudo-republic" in Nicosia airspace. The staffing shortage is identified as a critical safety issue.
