Airports as Energy Storage: Electric Vehicles for Energy Management
Cyprus's two airports with a total of 4,000 parking spaces for electric vehicles could serve as massive energy storage facilities and offer up to 280 MWh storage capacity. However, only about 6,000 electric vehicles are currently registered across the entire island. The idea is based on vehicle-to-grid technology, in which vehicle batteries can feed electricity back into the grid, which could be particularly interesting for energy management in Cyprus.
