Alarming Statistics on Violence Against Women in Cyprus
Between 2020 and 2025, 16 femicides with 17 victims were registered in Cyprus, while in 2026 there have already been two attempted cases. In 2025, a total of 300 women and 347 children were placed in shelters for victims of violence. The statistics highlight the serious problem of gender-based and domestic violence on the island.
