Alekos Panagoulis and His Ties to Cyprus
The article examines the historical connections of Greek resistance fighter Alekos Panagoulis to Cyprus and Greek Cypriots. After his escape from underground in 1967 from the Greek military junta, Panagoulis came to Cyprus, where he was taken in by the family of student Christakis Zoppou in Paphos. The relationship between Panagoulis and Cyprus was thus timelessly close and profound.
