Allegations of violence and drugs in central prison
The prison officers' union ISOTITA raised serious allegations against the central prison: violence between inmates, drug trafficking, overcrowding, and staff shortages. On August 5, two simultaneous brawls between prisoners occurred there. The Justice Ministry countered by calling for serious cooperation rather than public conflict in addressing these issues.
