Alpha-Gal Syndrome: tick bites trigger meat allergy
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warns of increasing Alpha-Gal Syndrome, an allergy to red meat transmitted through tick bites. In some US states, approximately 25 percent of the population is affected. The syndrome can lead to permanent allergic reactions and poses a growing health risk.
