Alzheimer and Dementia: Second Leading Cause of Death for Women in Cyprus
According to WHO data, Alzheimer and dementia was the second leading cause of death among women in Cyprus in 2021 with 49.9 deaths per 100,000 and the sixth leading cause among men. Worldwide, a new dementia case is diagnosed every three seconds, according to the Ithaca Foundation on World Alzheimer's Day.
