Yields on American government bonds have risen after the USA rejected an Iranian proposal to open the Strait of Hormuz. The rise in oil prices fuels inflation concerns and drives interest rates higher. The yield on ten-year US bonds reached 5.20% and the two-year bond rose by five basis points to 4.90%.
