Ancient DNA reveals unknown human lineage in China
Scientists have identified a previously unknown human lineage in China that lived approximately 11,000 years ago. The discovery is based on ancient DNA from remains at the Donghulin excavation site west of Beijing and provides the earliest genetic evidence for the transition from hunter-gatherer societies to early agriculture in Northeast Asia.
