Ancient dog genomes reveal unique Korean dog population
Researchers have sequenced for the first time the complete DNA genome of ancient dogs from the Korean Peninsula and discovered a distinct dog lineage dating back 2,000 years. The Korea Heritage Service announced the results on Thursday, with the study published in the international peer-reviewed journal PLOS ONE. A research team examined dog remains from two archaeological excavation sites.
