Ancient Etruscan City of Veii: New Research Refutes Decline Thesis
A new study led by Adeline Hoffelinck challenges previous historiography, which held that the wealthy Etruscan city of Veii simply collapsed following the Roman conquest. The research instead suggests that the city demonstrated adaptability, community life, and resilience during its Roman phase. The findings were published in the academic journal Antiquity and question a long-standing narrative of historical decline.
