Ancient Greek Thinkers: Persecution and Exile Instead of Fame
The article addresses the fate of significant ancient Greek philosophers, scientists, and artists such as Socrates, Pericles, and Pythagoras, who despite their historical renown had to endure persecution, exile, or even death during their lifetimes. The presentation shows the contrast between their later veneration in history and their contemporaneous discreditation by the societies of their time.
