Annita Demetriou calls for EU support against foot-and-mouth disease
The President of the House of Representatives, Annita Demetriou, has written a letter to the Chairman of the European People's Party, Manfred Weber, calling for concrete measures and EU support to combat the current outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease on Cyprus. In her letter, Demetriou points to the lack of harmonization of veterinary protocols in the occupied areas, which complicates disease control.
