Apaturia: The Ancient Athenian Festival of Kinship
Apaturia was a three-day festival in ancient Athens dedicated to Zeus Phratrios and Athena Phratria. During the festival, members of the phratries (kinship brotherhoods) gathered for sacrifices, communal meals, and formal registrations. Fathers presented their sons to the community.
