Archaeologists Reconstruct Final Moments of Pompeii Victim Using AI
Archaeologists in Pompeii have reconstructed the final moments of a man who died during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. using artificial intelligence. The reconstruction was created in collaboration with the University of Padua and depicts the man attempting to leave the ancient city while holding a clay mortar over his head. The reconstruction demonstrates new possibilities for applying AI in archaeology.
