Archbishop of Australia: Greek Must Remain in the Church
Archbishop Makarios of Australia emphasizes the necessity for services of the Orthodox Church to be conducted in the Greek language in order to preserve national and spiritual identity. In urgent terms, he warns: "If the Church loses its Greek identity, then we have serious problems." The Archbishop sees the use of the Greek language as key to preserving identity.
