Arming the National Guard: Jaguar tanks and pressure for Merkava
Cyprus is attempting to utilize the EU financing mechanism SAFE to strengthen the deterrence capabilities of the National Guard. Several contracts for Jaguar tanks are pending, while simultaneously there is pressure to acquire Merkava tanks at all levels.
