Art theft in Sicily: Renaissance masterpieces worth 80 million euros stolen
Four works by prominent Renaissance painter Antonello da Messina, valued at up to 80 million euros, were stolen from the Regional Museum of Messina (MuMe) in Sicily. The theft occurred on Saturday evening shortly before 10 p.m., while the city was celebrating the Ferragosto holiday.
