Asylum procedures in Cyprus at two-year low despite rising application numbers
The number of court proceedings by asylum seekers in Cyprus fell by 59 percent between 2023 and 2025. At the same time, the number of applicants from unsafe countries increased by 68 percent. Of 3,130 completed asylum procedures in 2025, only 68 were successful, corresponding to a success rate of about 2.2 percent.
