Authority conflict over foot-and-mouth disease recovery
While Cyprus's livestock industry continues to suffer from an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease, in which over 30,000 animals were culled, there is a conflict between authorities over recovery efforts. Veterinary service director Christodoulos Pipis and special committee head Stavros Malas are involved in a dispute that is necessary for pursuing the recovery.
