Automakers Retool Battery Plants for AI Energy Storage
Automobile manufacturers and battery producers are transforming their production facilities as the US electric vehicle market weakens. Instead, they are focusing on manufacturing energy storage systems to power artificial intelligence. However, converting the factories for new battery types presents significant challenges, and actual demand for energy storage may not grow quickly enough to absorb the overproduction.
