Avakas Gorge Remains Closed Due to Safety Concerns
The Avakas Gorge in Cyprus remains closed to visitors. The area has been sealed off since December 6, 2025 due to extreme weather, increased water flow, slippery ground conditions, rockfall and landslides. The forestry authority has posted warning signs and placed a chain at the entrance, stating that it is not responsible for visitors who enter the area despite the closure.
