Bab al-Mandab: Dangerous strait could become trap for Trump's military
The Bab al-Mandab strait, also called the "Gate of Tears," is considered one of the most dangerous maritime bottlenecks for shipping. The waterway connects the Suez Canal and Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean. Strong winds, dangerous ocean currents, reefs and shallow waters make navigation extremely risky.
