Bank of England Tightens Capital Requirements for Life Insurers
The Bank of England's regulatory authority announced it will tighten capital treatment for funded reinsurance transactions. British life insurers must henceforth hold approximately 10 percent equity capital against these transactions to control the growing role of private equity firms in the insurance sector.
