Banks earn 1.9 billion euros profit through savings accounts
Despite minimal interest rates, Cypriots stubbornly hold on to their bank deposits, earning institutions profits of 1.9 billion euros. Cyprus records the highest ratio of liquidity reserves in the eurozone, although savings interest rates are among the lowest on the continent.
