Banks Warn of Unsafe Loans Due to Missing Building Permits
The Cyprus Banking Association has written to municipalities and several ministries to demand clarity on the withdrawal of building permits. Banks fear that they face considerable risk when issuing loans for real estate projects and house purchases if permits are subsequently revoked and mortgages lose value.
