Brazil Criticizes US Tariffs and Seeks Alternative Markets
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva stated that Brazil will not "sit and cry" over the effects of new US tariffs, but will instead seek alternative markets for its products. The USA imposed additional tariffs of 25 percent on certain categories of Brazilian products this week. The Trump administration accuses Brazil of failing to adequately regulate certain trade practices.
