Brit imprisoned for welfare theft of deceased mother
A British man was sentenced to prison for keeping his deceased 89-year-old mother's body in a freezer for nearly three years and collecting almost 80,000 pounds sterling in her social benefits. Christopher Phillips admitted to preventing the proper burial of his mother Sylvia Phillips, who died in March 2023.
