British economy slows amid rising inflationary pressure
British business activity weakened in September as inflationary pressure increased, according to a purchasing managers index. The S&P Global UK Services PMI fell from 52.5 in August to 51.7 in September, the lowest value in three months, presenting a difficult starting position ahead of Finance Minister John Healey's first budget.
