British spy inspired James Bond legend
Greek-speaking British spy Jerzy Iwanow-Szajnowicz is considered a possible inspiration for Ian Fleming's James Bond novels. He conducted a series of unique espionage operations during the Nazi occupation of Greece in World War II, until his capture and execution in 1943.
