Building Safety Crisis Following Apartment Collapse in Limassol
Following the fatal collapse of an apartment building in Yermasoyia, Limassol, on Saturday in which two people died, concerns about building safety in Cyprus are intensifying. According to media reports, thousands of buildings on the island are old or poorly maintained; approximately 56% of all structures, around 270,000 buildings, are older than a certain age and are considered at risk.
