Byzantine scholars shape European Renaissance
Between the 14th and 15th centuries, Greek scholars left the besieged Byzantine Empire and emigrated to the Italian Peninsula, where they significantly contributed to the unfolding of the Renaissance. This significant period of rebirth of European culture was substantially shaped by the knowledge and works of these Byzantine scholars.
