Cabinet enables property registration for Greek-Cypriot refugees
The Cypriot Cabinet has decided that Greek-Cypriot refugees living in state housing complexes with planning deficiencies can receive deeds of ownership or rental contracts. Following the Turkish invasion of 1974, over 200,000 Greeks were displaced from the north, after which the Republic established residential settlements to house the displaced persons. This regulation is now to apply even in cases of irregularities in planning provisions.
