Cargo Ship Sinks Off Island of Andros, Crew Rescued
A cargo ship registered under the flag of Vanuatu foundered and sank off the Greek island of Andros. The ship was transporting approximately 8,000 tons of soda ash from Albania to Ukraine and suffered severe hull damage when it ran aground on rocky terrain north of Andros. A large-scale rescue operation by Greek authorities was required, and the crew was able to be rescued.
