Catamaran tragedy in Kyrenia: 8 dead, 18 missing
A catamaran named Filo Jet (formerly IRIS JET) sank off the coast of Kyrenia, claiming at least eight lives, while 18 others are missing, including two children. A total of 16 persons were sought with arrest warrants, nine have already been arrested and tried in court. The charges include negligent homicide, among others. The 26-year-old vessel had a turbulent history and had already sprung a leak in 2003.
