China: Hundreds of poisonous snakes escape after flooding
Following severe flooding caused by Typhoon Maysak, hundreds of snakes, including highly venomous cobras, have escaped from breeding farms in southern China. Several bite incidents have already been reported and one death recorded. Authorities are increasing supplies of antivenom and warning the public, as the animals could hide in houses and buildings.
