Chinese fossils reveal early diversity of animal life
Paleontologists have discovered approximately 700 fossils of soft-bodied animals in China, showing that animal life diversified in the Earth's primordial oceans millions of years earlier than previously known. The finds also include early representatives of a group that eventually led to vertebrates, including humans.
