Commemoration for 200 Greeks Executed by Nazis
On May 1, 1944, 200 Greek civilians were executed by Nazi occupation forces during World War II. The mass shooting served as retaliation for the killing of a German officer by Greek resistance fighters a few days earlier. The victims were transported to the Kaisariani firing range.
