Constitutional amendment for phone surveillance fails due to lack of votes
The Cypriot parliament is backing down from the planned constitutional amendment on phone surveillance. Following resistance within and outside the parties, the required 38 votes for the constitutional amendment are unlikely to be reached. Particularly within the DISY party, cracks have become visible as some members of parliament are withdrawing their support.
