Controversy over government decree on inflation in Northern Cyprus
Labor and Social Insurance Minister Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu defended the government measures against inflation through a decree with the force of law on state television BRT. President Tufan Erhürman sharply criticized this decree and called it confidence-undermining, emphasizing that the presidential office could not remain inactive. Hasipoğlu assured that the decree would not only remain as such, but would go through parliament.
