Court ends 50-year land expropriation dispute in Limassol
The Court of Appeals has definitively dismissed a lawsuit filed by property owners against the Republic of Cyprus regarding a land expropriation in Limassol. In a unanimous judgment dated July 16, 2026, the court upheld the first-instance decision, rejected all 16 grounds of appeal, and ordered the plaintiffs to pay costs of 4,000 euros plus value-added tax.
